Dear Mom, Dad and whoever reads this,
Hello. I'm doing great. I just got done with an extremely busy day! We went off right after I said goodbye and started. Got my picture taken, which I loved, then got my name tag, which still looks weird, but I'm getting use to it. After that, I went and put my stuff in my room and went to class where I started off with a lovely orientation video. Then, went back for a little while to meet my teachers for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I have 10 people in this district as they call it, including me. There I met my companion, whose name is Elder Williams and much to my surprise, he is about the same size as me just a foot shorter and get this, he's from Malad. Ha, Ha. Funny right? Anyway, he's kind of quiet like me, but is going to be a good companion. He also played football, same position as me. So, we have lots to talk about. Anyway, after that we went to kind of a fireside, where the MTC president and their wives talked to us. They said some great words. Then, we went to dinner, which was awesome. Potatoes and meat! Mmmmm, meat! And ice cream! Ha ha. Then, we went to a weird thing where two missionaries started teaching an investigator, then left the room half way done. Then, a group of about 30 missionaries had to finish. It was really interesting. I was surprised of what I did know and could answer, but also of what I didn't. I have a lot of work to do still. Then I went back to my room to unpack and write a letter, a very detailed letter for you, Mom. Well, I have to go. I'll write you on p-day.
Love, Elder Downs
p.s. Read 2 Timothy 1:9-I'm here for a reason. I'm doing great by the way and love it. I've met 5 or 6 elders I know, so DON'T WORRY!!!!
